Notes
You may be aware that 4th Cat riders are not allowed to enter Surrey League events on the
road this year and must qualify for a 3rd categaory licence first on closed circuit events.
If you are a 3rd Cat and would like to enter some road events this year I would prefer it if
direct entries through me. On this subject we want to get a team of 4 on the Crawley Stage race
in July, George and Jon are up for it - I may be but is there anybody else?
I also want to get more team spirit within the club by trying to ensure that there are several
riders in each race (in the past 1 rider has gone to an event on Saturday and another a
different event on Sunday), but also by arranging training rides when racing is a bit quiet.
May 2005
Congrats to Pete Mitchell for winning Hove Park on 13th May, its indecent being so fit and so young!
Half the field seemed to be wearing Brighton Excel shirts with Tom, George, Roy, Anthony and myself.
These events are every other Friday (near enough) - next one 27th May 6.30pm.
Congats also to George who came third in a 2 stage race at Milford thanks mainly to a good time trial.
I did the Crawley Town Centre race (probably for the last time) and was pulled out after 15 mins evn though I was nowhere near getting lapped, it seems they take 50 entries even though they cannot handle them!
George and I also did the Newchapel handicap, after raining all day it stopped just long enough for the race, this kept numbers down but we still blew it in the sprint
